Lucas went home from the hospital last week. He is doing great now! I'm so thankful. Hopefully I'll get to see the little guy again next weekend.

Went to a Nashville Sounds game on Friday night with some friends, and again on Saturday night with Daniel, Dylan, and Daniel's Mom. Dylan's best friend Jacob and his parents were there, and the two kiddos got to run around the bases at the end. laney895, I saw your boyfriend. ;)

Yesterday we were going to go see Harry Potter at the IMAX since it had 20 mins. of 3-D scenes, and we needed the 3-D glasses to watch Spy Kids 3-D. But it was completely sold out. Dylan was disappointed, but we played Glow Golf (glow-in-the-dark mini-golf) and went to the Aquarium Restaurant instead. Even though we had a great time, he was still occasionally complainy about not getting to go to the IMAX. I pointed out all the things we had done instead at the mall (he got bubblegum from a machine, we got a science kit for really cheap from this store that was having an 80% off sale, the mini-golf, and the Aquarium restaurant). He can really get a negative, whiny attitude sometimes, so I'm really trying to teach him to see the positives that can come out of something unplanned or bad that happens. He's a young-un, so he's got plenty of time to learn what even some adults haven't. The best part of the weekend for me happened after we got home. We were getting ready to get the stuff out of his science kit and see what trouble we could get into with it when he said, "You know what, Sarah? I really love you." ...heart...melting...straight...into...my...soul.

This morning he was again pouty and whiny and not wanting to get ready to go to camp. I was telling him things to emphasize the positive, and listing things that he had to be grateful for, and the last thing I said was, "and also, just look at your hair. You are having a totally awesome hair day today!" His bed-head hair was every which way. But it got him distracted from his whining and negativity for a bit. Daniel's Mom actually came to me before she left to tell me how good she thought I was with Dylan. That made me really happy. Things really have been going well with him here. He's such a great kid. His Mom and Dad have both done a wonderful job in raising him.

Well Daniel is wanting to spend some time together now that Dylan has gone to bed, so I'm out!

You always do such fun things with friends! Isn't summer perfect for that? I bet you and Daniel really treasure the time you get to spend with the little guy. And Dylan's "I really love you." - awwww. He's lucky to have you in his life, and I'm sure you feel the same way about him. :)

Sarah, I really admire the relationship you have with Dylan. I can't believe all three of my sisters are married with children! Seems like just yesterday we were fighting over school clothes! hahahaha

I know - sometimes I think about it, and it's surreal. I think about how it would be nice to go on a trip together, just the 4 of us, but then I think, "Wait, some of us have babies." heh.
